At UNL, my PhD research focused on resolving the sedimentologic, stratigraphic, and geochemical record of the Late Paleozoic ice age in eastern Australia. This integrated approach allowed us to reassess the timing, duration, and nature of high-latitude glaciation.

Since completing my PhD, I have continued to work collaboratively with Chris Fielding on an outcrop-based sedimentary and sequence stratigraphic analysis of the Muley Canyon Sandstone, a Campanian shallow marine to paralic unit in the Henry Mountain Syncline of southern Utah. Our investigation is finding some expected similarities but also marked differences in channel architectural characteristics. Our preliminary findings, both from the Muley Canyon Sandstone and also the overlying coal-bearing Masuk Formation have recently been published as a Utah Geological Survey Open File Report (OFR-557).

Currently, I am a Research Assistant Professor at the Energy & Geoscience Institute, University of Utah.
