At UNL I had the pleasure of working on two field-based research projects. My masters thesis research focused on the sedimentology and sequence startigraphy of the coal-bearing Betts Creek Beds, which outcrops in one of Australia's national parks located in northeastern Queensland. The stratigraphic framework established at outcrop was then utilized to interpret the regional subsurface stratigraphy of the Permian succession of the Galilee and western Bowen Basins through detailed well log correlation.

My dissertation research focused on the continental succession of the Carboniferous Maritimes Basin, along the shores of Nova Scotia. Many of the formations contain thick fluvial successions that are dominated by sedimentary structures and other associated features which indicate stronlgy seasonal discharge. These units can be correlated across the entire basin which suggests that regional changes in paleoclimate are being recorded within the stratigraphy.

Currently, I am a geologist at Chevron.
