Fieldwork for my thesis during the summer of 2008 resulted in a sedimentological and sequence stratigraphic analysis of the Masuk Formation, an Upper Cretaceous unit that is part of the succession within the Henry Mountains Syncline in south-central Utah . Using several stratigraphic sections, recognition of depositonal environments, hundreds of paleocurrent directions, and correlation of important surfaces and rock units across outcrops I was able to construct a detailed sequence framework for the Masuk Formation.
