Research
Students coming to Nebraska to study hydrogeology will find high-level
expertise in water resources research in our department and collaborating units.
Such opportunity is uncommon even nationally, because Nebraska is the top
groundwater user, ahead of California and Texas. A broad set of courses in
inter-departmental programs, instruments for subsurface investigation, drilling
and direct push equipment, analytical laboratories, instrumented sites, and airborne
remote sensing tools for characterization of water resources are available to
our students. Hydrogeology specialization addresses any specific student interests, as reflected by diverse
